SymphonyCare seeks an experienced Project Manager in our Madison, WI office who will work in concert with software developers, product managers, and management to perform software project planning and resource planning. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience with software development and maintenance and managing large and small projects using agile and other development methods. The Project Manager will act as the stakeholder advocate to ensure the project meets the approved goals and timelines.


This position is located in our headquarters on the Capitol Square in downtown Madison, WI. Madison is a vibrant, progressive community with great neighborhoods, top-ranked schools, tons of activities, and an internationally-renowned university.

 Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Create detailed project plans for software development, implementations, and other software-related projects using Jira, MS Project, and similar tools while interfacing with software engineers and product managers.

  • Manage the completion of projects by managing sprints or scrums.

  • Monitor projects daily and prepare weekly project status reports for management and clients.

  • Plan and organize meetings.

  • Project resource needs and work with management to fill open positions.

  • Drive the teams to complete deliverables and meet deadlines as established within the strategic and scrum planning sessions

  • Have strong leadership skills to motivate staff members, and work with the team to come up with innovative solutions for day-to-day business issues.

  • Post-project evaluation to determine what processes or methods should change. Implement continuous improvement practices.

  • Accountable to develop and execute scope of work and change order procedures as defined by the organization

  • Accountable to operate within project management best practices and procedures as defined by company

  • Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Experience

  • 3+ years of relevant project management experience.

  • 3+ years of Agile Scrum experience.

  • Hands-on software development experience is preferred.

  • Advanced skill and proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Visio, and Project.

  • Experience with Jira and Confluence is highly preferred.

  • Experience developing, implementing, and supporting healthcare software is highly preferred.

  • PMP certification is preferred.



  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality. This position will be responsible for maintaining confidential data and for the protection of such material, ensuring compliance with accrediting agencies guidelines and laws such as those outlined by HIPAA.

  • Ability to work in a fast paced and frequently changing industry, and must work very hard to keep up with the responsibilities.

  • Must be proficient at working with a number of technologies and at keeping up with the ever-changing field of information technology

  • Able to prioritize and resolve issues should conflict arise in scheduling, resources, etc.

  • Able to work extended hours as needed to ensure deadlines are met

  • This position is in our Madison, WI office. The person must be in the office during the work week. Remote work is not allowed for this position.
